No Kid Hungry

1 in 7 children in Virginia live in families that struggle with food insecurity. Using proven, practical solutions, the No Kid Hungry Virginia Campaign (NKHVA) is ending childhood hunger by connecting kids with existing, effective nutrition programs, including the Summer Meals Program, Afterschool Meals Program, School Breakfast Program, the Community Eligibility Provision.

Too often, these nutrition programs aren’t reaching the kids who need them, and missing meals and experiencing hunger can impair development and achievement. NKHVA increases stakeholder awareness of the programs, works with local partners to identify and eliminate barriers for kids, provides grant funds to new programs, and offers technical assistance and best practices to all. Through public-private partnerships with state, federal, non-profit, and private resources across Virginia, NKHVA has worked with hundreds of community partners to improve food security for Virginia youth. Research demonstrates that regular access to quality nutrition can increase academic performance and job-readiness after high school, benefiting our workforce and communities.

Town of South Hill

If you want a more relaxed daily life without giving up the amenities of the city, South Hill is the place to be.

We get it - small town life isn't for everyone. But for those who crave it, you can't beat South Hill.

Located on Interstate 85 midway between Richmond, Virginia, and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, you'll be able to reach all the great places in two metro areas in less time than people who live in those cities can drive from one side to the other.

The fact is, most people who live in metro areas tend to stick to their own area of the city most of the time, except for work and shopping. Why not live in a place that gives you a better quality of life?

Living in South Hill, you'll enjoy a lower cost of living and being a part of a true community where people know and support each other.

With our affordability, convenient location, plenty of opportunities for recreation, great schools and access to higher education, and active community, we're sure you'll love your new home!
